Nadda, Sonia among leaders with diverse political ideologies pay homage to Sitaram Yechury
Nadda paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of the former Rajya Sabha MP Yechury, who passed away at the age of 72 on Thursday, at his residence.
According to a communique issued by Congress general secretary in-charge of organisation KC Venugopal, the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson is the party’s nominee in Rajasthan.
The Congress on Wednesday announced its Rajya Sabha candidates, including CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Ajay Maken, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Renuka Chowdhury, from different states.
Gandhi, is currently the MP from Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

She filed her nomination for the Upper House earlier in the day in Jaipur.
In the first list besides Gandhi, the other three candidates are Akhilesh Prasad Singh in Bihar, Abhishek Manu Singhvi in Himachal Pradesh and Chandrakant Handore in Maharashtra.
In the second list, the Congress announced the name of six candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections.
The party fielded Ajay Maken, Syed Nassir Hussain and GC Chandrasekhar as its candidates in Karnataka; Ashok Singh in Madhya Pradesh; and Renuka Chowdhury and Anil Kumar Yadav in Telangana.
“Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the candidature of the following persons as Congress candidates to contest the biennial elections to the Council of States from these states,” the statement said.
Elections to 56 Rajya Sabha seats in 15 states are scheduled to be held on February 27. The last date of filing of nomination is February 15.
